Global Climate Change

Theoretical basis of Global Climate Change

To understand global climate change and global warming, you must first understand the global climate and how it operates. The weather is a result of the link between the atmosphere, oceans, ice sheets (cryosphere), living organisms (biosphere) and the soils, sediments and rocks (geosphere). Only when one considers the climate system under this holistic view, it is possible to understand the flows of matter and energy in the atmosphere and eventually understand the causes of global change (GCCIP 1997). This requires analysis of each of the interconnected compartments, starting with the most important, the atmosphere.
