Radiative Forcing Mechanisms

A process that alters the energy balance of the global climate system or part thereof, is called radiative forcing. These are separated in turn, into internal and external mechanisms. The external operating from outside the climate system, include orbital variations and changes in solar flux. Internal mechanisms, operating within the climate system, such as volcanic activity and changes in atmospheric composition.
